They all break in the same. Find one that fits and you like the looks of. A middle infielder should have a smaller glove so the ball doesn't get lost in it. Get some leather oil and lub the glove. Stick a ball in the pocket and tie it up. Only use it in practice until it is broken in the way you like.

As far as looks (different web designs) they are just personal preference. The main differences are position based. Outfielders use larger webbed gloves that give them a little more reach and pocket since they will often make long runs to catch a ball in the air. Infielders use smaller and lighter gloves since the ball is usually traveling faster and mostly on the ground, they also have to get the ball out of the glove faster to throw out a runner. First base is designed for both catching very hard thrown balls and has a large surface that helps pick balls out of the dirt – they are the largest and heaviest of gloves. Catcher is of course designed to catch a 100mph fastball without breaking your hand. Then there are the pitchers….They use all types of infield or outfield gloves but they have to take into consideration anything on the glove that may be considered distracting to hitter (that is illegal for a pitcher) like a white logo on the strap and most pitchers pick their glove not for fielding but they take into account how their hand looks in the glove and can hitters pick up movement that gives away pitches – that's why you will almost never see a pitcher wearing a glove where 1 finger is exposed and pitchers use those gloves and have a patch sewn on to hide their finger.

Most of the designs beyond the purpose of the glove are more for personal preference – deeper pockets, more padding, combined finger areas etc. We all have different shaped hands and we all catch the ball in a slightly different hand position so after choosing a glove of your purpose then its about fit and feel. So a perfect glove for you may break someone elses hand if you have one designed for a more web catch and someone who likes a pocket catch tries it. <– trust me on that one. And it took about 3 weeks before I could play again…

Stick with Rawlings it's the best don't change it for anything. Try to get a 11.5 or 12 inch glove. Wilson isn't that bad eithier but it hard to find a good infeld Wilson glove. So stick with a Rawlings infield glove.

i would just go to wal-mart to be completely honest with you. It will be much cheaper. I would go with either a Wilson or Rawlings glove. They will run anywhere between 10-20 bucks.
The bat, make sure it is not too heavy for the kid – i know alot of kids want to make sure they're bat has like cool colors and stuff.. ya know, thats just kids in general. I'm not a really big fan of wal-mart, but i think that would run you a little bit cheaper. If not wal-mart, then you might want to try like Dick's Sporting Goods, or Sports Authority, but it will be more expensive. I wish your son goodluck this year – and hope he enjoys every second of it. :)

GREAT QUESTION. There are many different types of gloves depending on position. But when it comes down to it, infielders and pitchers gloves are shorter, and outfielders gloves are a little longer.

Pitchers gloves MUST have a closed web. A closed web refers to the pocket that the ball goes into when the ball is caught. Why a closed pocket? Cuz the pitcher grips the ball differently depending on which type of pitch he'll throw (curve, slider, fastball), and if he has an open pocket, the batter may see how his hands are gripping the ball.

    Open pocket glove:

    Closed pocket glove:

I recommend this at first glance:

But any GOOD/REAL leather, short 10.5 inch to 11.75 inch glove, closed pocket, lightweight glove should work.

Remember a few notes: a serious pitcher doesn't want extra weight on his opposite hand of throwing, he doesn't want something that'll throw off his balance (a big/long glove), he does want a short one so that its easy to pull the ball out quickly if he gets the ball hit back at him, and a closed web to protect the ball. Spending at least $100 should bring you something lightweight with good leather.

  14. Poopie. says:

If you're only using it for casual catch, do not spend over around 60-70 dollars for it. Any brand is fine, and a middle of the road size is 12" (for an adult player). Just make sure it's not a really cheap crappy plastic glove, those will just break down very quickly.

wich program he is for doing this ? beside a tablet ofc

  17. CHRISTOPER G says:

I really love Wilson. Wilson is really easy to break in and it is comfortable on the hand and it has lasted me five years, so i am fairly certain your son or daughter couldn't do any damage to it. Wilson is also fairly inexpensive if you buy their smaller gloves. As for a cheap T-ball glove at target, it depends on how long it will be used. If it will just be used for T-ball and then she decides not to play anymore then it would be perfect. But if she is serious about playing you might want to get her a nicer one, seeing as those cheap ones do not break in at all.
